“Grandmed” Hospital was first opened in 2009 with 100% investment from “Jiguur Grand Group,” a leading company in Mongolia’s construction sector, and has continued operating without interruption for 16 years to this day. At the “Quality Achievements Award 2025” held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, “Grandmed Hospital” received the Gold Category award, which was accepted by L. Onon, Director of Development Policy and Strategy at Grandmed Hospital.
Received the “INTERVENTION SPINE SURGERY” accreditation from South Korea.
In Las Vegas, USA, among 52 leading organizations from 41 countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, “Grandmed” Hospital received the “SUPREME AWARD FOR QUALITY LEADERSHIP,” accepted by D. Battur, President of Jiguur Grand Group.
At the Excellence in Quality international conference held in Lucerne, Switzerland, “Grandmed” Hospital received the “BEST COMPANY IN THE REGION” award.
At the Century International Quality Era Award Ceremony held in Geneva, Switzerland, “Grandmed” Hospital received the “HOSPITAL MEETING INTERNATIONAL QUALITY STANDARDS” award.
It first began operations as a rehabilitation sanatorium, with 32 doctors and staff and 25 inpatient beds.
The “Spine Project” was launched, and Mongolian doctors and specialists began receiving training in South Korea.
A new hospital building was opened, reaching the level of a tertiary specialized hospital and expanding to 100 beds with more than 200 doctors and staff.
For the first time in Mongolia, complex microsurgical procedures such as lumbar disc replacement, spinal vertebral fracture fixation, vertebroplasty, spinal tumor removal, and cervical disc replacement were introduced.
As part of its social responsibility efforts, from 2015 to 2018 it provided free specialized advanced care for spine and joint conditions to more than 10,000 citizens in over 50 soums across 18 provinces of Mongolia.
It began providing healthcare services to citizens with insurance discounts. It also organized the delivery of emergency care services for residents of Khan-Uul District in the capital city.
A new spinal endoscopic surgical technique was successfully introduced, making Mongolia the 4th country in the world to introduce the PSLD method. The PSCD cervical endoscopic microsurgery technique was introduced, making Mongolia the 2nd country in the world to do so, and gaining international recognition.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, among private hospitals in Ulaanbaatar, only Grandmed Hospital provided emergency surgical care, successfully performing surgeries for more than 2,300 citizens around the clock in accordance with standards. The ISO 9001:2015 international quality management system was successfully implemented.
To promote health education for the public, from 2022 to 2024 the hospital launched and shared with the public “Doctor Grandmed,” a 12-episode documentary project featuring historic surgery-related content.
A new molecular biology laboratory was established, improving the hospital’s integrated laboratory diagnostic capacity, and it was accredited for meeting the MNS ISO 15189:2015 standard.
